Preparation for 2007

After taking delivery of the RX7, I decided to add some new parts, refresh the old and modify some existing to make the car suitable to my tastes.  This envolved stripping off the prior numbers and decals, straightening the body (to the best I could) and laying down a new paint scheme.  The fiberglass spoiler had cracks that needed to be filed with new glass and fasteners.

Weds, Jan 10th - here is my progress on the body.  17 days before Tech Inspection.

Sunday January 14th, 9 days till Tech Inspection

I selected color scheme from the late 70's/early 80's to sedate the appearance of the car.   The REX now looks more streetable than race car.  For me, the car itself shouldn't stand out but should compliment the driver's style.

SUNDAY JANUARY 21 - NEW AUTOMETER GAUGES

Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp and Warning Lights - High Water Temp (+220f) & Low Oil Pressure Warning (-30psi).   Custom Aluminum Gauge Pod - Center Dash.

TECH DAY - JAN 27th!

The car was inspected at the Atlanta Region's annual tech day in Chamblee.  The scrutineer noted a couple of fixes -
* Outdated harnesses
* "E" and "Off" decals
* Fuel test port hose
* Harness bar below the 20' mininum

Prior to the Driver's School on Feb 8th - I had Britt at PRS install the correct harness bar.  New belts and decals were added to bring the car within GCR spec.

Feb 8th -  Annual Inspection PASSED!

Update - May 25th

New Dual EGT Guage and True Wideband UEGO Air/Fuel added to dash.  Along with Momo pedals and Accelerator Stopper below the pedal for a solid feel.
